Eric was hopping mad when he thought that I'd clean forget about his birthday:

Me: My brother asked for dinner with us later for ur bday.
Him: How come he knws my bday?
Me: I told him before and he rems I think.
Him: Oh.. Then did u rem?
Me: Oh no! I forgot abt it! Too busy with the Shanghai and hospital thing past weeks.
Him: *Called my mobile and spoke with a not-very-nice tone*
"It's okay 'cos you'd always been very 特别 to me. 特别的烂!"

Saying me 特别的烂!!!

All my time were spent visiting doctor. WHERE GOT TIME??? But still, I managed to squeeze that little time for this tiny surprise.

The classic birthday bear.

Hand-made card in less than 15 minutes 'cos Eric was waiting downstairs for dinner with me.
I used all materials I could find within my reach; cardboard, magazines, brochures. So 0 dollars spent!
I'm good.

Wrote these to make it look as though all I bought were just a box of candies for his birthday.
Evil.

Candies filled to the brim.

Eric wasn't led into my little trick anyway.
He noticed that the box was too heavy for the candies so he dug deep in the box.
Was it me or was it him???

An Armani Exchange square steel watch.

I got a French Connection leather round watch for him on Valentine's Day and he was asking what type of watches he should get next; a square-faced, or a steel-strapped.

So I got both combined!
