Ironically, I'm having my long weekend leave from work and now,
I'm SICK!!!
Everyone would have known by now that Singapore's first case of H1N1 was reported yesterday, on a 22 years old girl back from SMU's study exchange in New York.
OMG. Singapore's turn!!!
Guess it's just a matter of time that the whole world would be infested with this virus. We managed to fight and get through SARS back then, I'm pretty sure we would definitely make it for this Swine Flu!!!
So being a little paranoid upon learning on the Singapore's first case news, I went to NUH last night 'cos I was running a fever since morning. And I really gonna say, that visiting a hospital would be the worst decision ever during this H1N1 critical period.
The nurses took my temperature at the entrance of A&E and I was immediately brought to a small isolation room.
The isolation room 7. My favourite number!
She left without giving any instructions or assurance that I'll be fine or would get back or attend to me again or whatsoever!
As I do not even know what exactly are the procedure and how long I'm gonna be in that cold small room, I held on to the nurse when she was about the close the door.
She said, "I don't know, maybe 2 - 3 hours. We need to make sure the rest of the other 6 patients who came before you, are fine."
And she walked out.
WTF??? That didn't answer my question, hello?
To make matter worst, I had nothing to do in the room at all and literally staring at the four walls waiting for what's-next.
Luckily, I had my trusty blackberry and spent the 2 plus hours surfing the net. Those people who had or are under quarantine must have felt terrible being left alone for days, compared to the few hours of mine.
Worst experience ever.
