Brought Furgie for a 4.30pm appointment at the vet on Saturday for a dog vaccine but we were late for 30 minutes at 5pm.
SHINGZ!
So Furgie was lucky she didn't get the jab on her butt!
We're very fortunate that Singapore do not have cases of Rabies.
In case you do not know what exactly Rabies is, it is an infectious disease of dogs, cats, and other animals, transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected animal. Usually fatal if prophylactic treatment is not administered: caused by an RNA virus of the rhabdovirus group; hydrophobia.
Symptoms include excitement, aggressiveness, and dementia, which eventually followed by paralysis and death.
You can read it more here.
I searched for Rabies on youtube:
Boy with Rabies (believed in Angola).
It is uncontrollable, so anyone with Rabies is being tied up as they have the tendency to bite.
Why would such a young boy needs to suffer from such mishap?
As Rabies is a forgotten disease, it'll be really advantageous if more people are being brought to the attention and that more public awareness being created.
